The following terms govern the participation in the 16th International Symposium on Schistosomiasis:

Insurance: Registration fees do not include personal, travel or medical insurance of any kind. Participants are advised to make their own insurance arrangements to cover risks including (but not limited to) loss, cancellation, medical costs and injury. No responsibility will be accepted by the Symposium, the host organization and/or the Symposium manager for any participant failing to insure and/or any injury or loss.
Currency and tax: All fees and costs as quoted are payable in US Dollars (US$) or Real (R$) only and are inclusive of all taxes as applicable under the laws of Brazil.
All discounted registration fees like Super Early, Early etc. are applicable within the defined time window in order to qualify for the rate.
Full payment of registration fees must accompany your registration in order to receive confirmation for participation. Registration cannot be confirmed without full payment.
Registered participants: Each person attending the Symposium must complete a registration form in his/her name and officially register as a participant

Cancellation policy: Cancellation of registration must be notified in writing. Cancellations received up to and including 45 (forty five) days prior to commencement of the Symposium will be refunded less a Cancellation fee of USD 50. No refund of registration fees will be possible for cancellations notified less than 45 (forty five) days in advance of the Symposium. Failure to obtain a visa is not ground for a refund of registration fees.
Substitutions: In the event a registered participant cannot attend, a substitute participant may be nominated by him/her up to 30 (thirty) days prior to commencement of the Symposium at no additional charge.
Thereafter, substitutions are subject to availability and an additional processing fee of USD 25 per substitution shall apply.
Communication: All communication regarding the Symposium will be directed only to the person or persons named on the participant registration form. All written communication (such as but not limited to confirmation letter and tax invoice) will be sent by email, in accordance with our sustainability policy.
Copies of confirmations, tax invoice and other Symposium related communication cannot be sent to any other person.
